WISE: Womens Initiative for Self-Empowerment. Who are we? We are a 501c3 non-profit organization that trains women to empower themselves and their communities. What Do We Do? We provide skills-based training on how to build power and capacity via self and community. How Do We Do it? Our three elements of focus include self-defense, social entrepreneurship, leadership & organizing. We provide training in each of these categories to (IM)WISE members and various community and corporate partners. Our trainings range anywhere from 1x, three-hour workshops to year-long programming. WISE provides high-quality trainings to all persons, regardless of age, disability, gender, gender identity, race, religion, belief, or sexual orientation. Why Do We Do it? Whether it is identity-based, gender-based, or state-based- hate-based violence is never acceptable.
