Wood Family Foundation

The Wood Family Foundation (WFF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was founded in June 2011 by Chicago Cubs pitcher Kerry Wood and his wife, Sarah. The WFF works to improve the lives of children in Chicago by raising funds and awareness for its childrens programs. The WFF acts as an advocate for children in the Chicago community, inspiring others to join them in their mission of giving children the resources they need to succeed. Pitch In is a long-term after-school mentoring program designed to support students, starting in the fourth grade and staying with them through their academic career; assisting them through that critical transition into high school. By working with school faculty and local area partners, weve designed dynamic interactive activities, presentations, educational worksheets and projects to engage students to reinforce and sustain learning.
