Wood Research and Development

Wood Research and Development is a Testing and Certification Lab, that also provides timber inspections, timber courses, and structural engineering and design. Our EPHODTM non-destructive wood testing process using compression waves gives accurate data and helps prevent further damage to the structure, without the drilling of multiple holes that may accelerate further degradation. Our test lab and inspections are IAS certified, and we have a wide range of wood testing techniques for large and small-scale projects. Core samples are first obtained to provide a sample which can be studied for rot. The critical ratio of the woods density in water can also be tested at the same time. Our subsequent treatment process prevents rot and damage, and gives the wood a beautiful overall orange color.
