World NGO Day

Back in 2014, the 27th of February became a historic day for the NGO (non-profit) community across the globe. We dreamed big and we achieved it! The only decentralized international day for NGOs, World NGO Day - 27th February, was inaugurated. Throughout the years, millions of people have been active on World NGO Day in more than 89 countries and 6 continents. To date, its the only decentralized international day that celebrates the work of over 10 million NGOs (non-profit) worldwide! This represents more than 50 million people who work for the global non-profit sector as well as all the volunteers and philanthropists who are the backbone of our global community. Around the world, non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) are at the forefront supporting those who are most in need. They are at frontline delivering humanitarian relief, documenting human rights abuses and violations, and advocating for climate justice and gender equality.
