Wrapped in Love

Like many stories in our lives, the Wrapped in Love story started with an illness. Our founder Karens Mom had become very ill from cancer and pulmonary fibrosis. It was Christmas Eve and Karens mom told her she no longer wanted to receive visitors as she felt she looked too bad in her state of illness. It broke Karens heart to see how her mother had lost her dignity. Karen decided that she was going to make her feel special and pretty on Christmas day. She made her a wrap that could go over her hospital gown and put a pretty flower pin on it (she loved flowers and gardening). Karen put a little bit of lipstick on her and gave her some rosy cheeks, and Karen saw her mothers familiar smile come back. That day inspired Karen for the rest of her life. Karen saw that helping someone feel and look special despite their illness could really make an impact on a patients outlook and dignity.
