Yellow Bird has been in the limelight for producing the feature films The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest, based on Stieg Larssons critically acclaimed Millennium trilogy. Released in more than 50 countries with a total box office of above 210 million USD, this project is the most successful ever to come out of Scandinavia. The films are also available as a 6x90 TV movie films and won an International Emmy for Best TV mini series. The company co-produced the David Fincher directed US version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo together with Scott Rudin for Columbia Pictures. In 2012, Yellow Birds screen adaptation of Jo Nesbs novel Headhunters became the highest grossing foreign language release at the UK box office.
