Our Mission The YMCA of Southwestern Indiana, Inc., following the example of Jesus Christ, responds to community needs, by serving all people, especially youth, through relationships and activities that promote healthy spirit, mind, and body. Our History Founded in 1857 by E. H. Sabin, the YMCA is a volunteer based organization that contributes to the lives of boys and girls, and men and women of all ages, races, religions, and economic backgrounds. We are a not-for-profit organization with the unique opportunity to touch the lives of infants through seniors throughout the community.
