Yorkshire Universities Air Squadron

At Yorkshire UAS, we give undergraduates from Yorkshire universities the opportunity to gain some of the skills and training needed to become an officer in the Royal Air Force. The Squadron holds Town Nights every Friday which are followed by sports on a Saturday. Town Nights are held at RAF Leeming and, along with two annual camps at Easter and in the Summer, form the compulsory training for all YUAS members. In addition to compulsory training, Yorkshire offers a number of other opportunities for members to gain new skills in a diverse range of areas. These include fieldcraft, first aid, navigation, and shooting. There are also opportunities to gain confidence through presentation and leadership exercises. Perhaps the most exciting opportunity for students at YUAS is flying. Students are given the opportunity to fly the Grob Tutor at our parent station, RAF Leeming.
