Zakat & Sadaqa Trust Fund of Ghana

The Muslim caucus of Parliament of Ghana in collaboration with His Eminence, the national Chief Imam Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu and variours sect launched the Zakat and Sadaqa trust fund of Ghana on 6th September 2010 at the state-house to enable Muslims working in the public and private sectors of Ghana observe the 3rd pillar of Islam in fulfillment of their faith in Allah. We therefore wish to invite all Muslims, especially, Ghanaian Muslims to join the fund. Subscribers to the fund are expected to pay 2.5% of their annual income into the fund. The amount involved will be divided into 12 to enable subscribers pay without feeling any burden, only persons with minimum basic salary of about GH 1,178 (Nisab) and above are qualified to pay Zakat. A person may choose to pledge a specific amount to be deducted as sadaqa if the person does not meet the minimum requirement of the Nisab.
