Ed Koch believed that Louis Sithole had a potential to start and run a successful business in mixing chemicals, after working through various sections of powders manufacturing over a number of years (1980s to early 2000s). Project Vuka was Unilevers transformation idea that was going to assist retrenched workers by helping establish small business. Ed Kock was the Project Coordinator at the time. Louis (and his partners) conviction was what changed a disadvantaged retrenchment to an advantaged opportunity that saw the humble beginnings of Zamani Chemicals (Pty) Ltd back in July 2002.
