Zarzour was established in 1942 in Damascus,the oldest commercial capital in the world, in the oldest commercial market in the Middle East, the Medhat Basha Market. The companys founder, Mr. Mohamed Kamel Zarzour, was a veteran trader specializing in the import and export of food products. His son, Mr. Mohamed Zarzour, led the business into the production and packaging of food products, spices in particular. Mr. Mohamed Zarzour specialized in the production of unique spice blends under the Zarzour trade name, that brand soon carved itself a prominent position amongst the leading Syrian spice brands.
