Operational Research (OR) as a subject was introduced in the University of Delhi in 1963 with the introduction of a two year post graduate programme. A decade later in 1973, the Department of Operational Research was independently set up under the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences. It is the first department to start a post graduate programme in Operational Research in India. The Department of Operational Research, since its very inception, has been vigorously engaged in research and the Master of Operational Research (MOR) programme at the Department provides unparalleled depth and experience for students in the subject area of Operational Research.
